Trip planning process


This page is a list of the steps the committee should go through when organising a trip, along with suggestions for who should do each stage and a guideline deadline for when it should be completed. Not in the right order yet. Suggestions for filling in the blanks/other tasks that should be done in comments, please!

What needs doing?

Choose dates for the trip
Be aware of school/bank holidays as they cause travel/accommodation availability problems.

When does deposit/full payment need to be made?

A fortnight ish in advance to allow for buying more

Complete risk assessment AND trip registration form and return to Union.

ah that does remind me - i was aiming to put a list of huts we stayed at and their suitability in the back of the club walking log book, however to do this i still need a list of where we have been so frankie could you possibly try and find one for me? perhaps rather than in the log book it would be better to create the list on here as it would be easier to organise into areas etc and could have everyones input

Good idea. I think it should be on here as a resource for people on unofficial trips too. You should find a fair bit of info contained within the google map.

Can I add a sort of "day or so before trip" thing - check location of hut or campsite, and maybe print off a google map

I did keep the google map up to date with the info i had, so all the huts have a suitability description attatched to them etc.
